I thought the "We set up a blockade..." was describing the Second Great War (the first part).

According to Second Great War Part II, the trick all along was to mass-produce Collosuses. I have no idea why the GTVA ever bothered with fighters and destroyers. 

I'm actually going to download this classic again and play the last mission in the techroom, just to see how it ends. I'm so curious!

Personally, I had a mental breakdown at the point where an admiral, who had defected from the NTF and therefore had superior ETAK knowledge, assaulted a Sathanas with a Fenris and managed to commandeer the juggernaut.

You eliminated all hostiles wonderfully.  Your engagement with the shivan fighters was wonderful.

I was grasping for a noose at that point. Geez... since when have admirals talked like that during debriefings. Might as well have said "Oh, I am so filled with joy that I think I will cry" with a gay tone.

The structure of the description is actually a bit misleading, now that I thought of it. Well, good that it's sorted now, hmm.

Excellent work pilots.  Sathanas 6 is down.  But, you are not done, so don't return to base.

This ship is the 4th edition Hecate destroyer.  1st was prototype that didn't succeed unlike the Vasudans' Hathesput, 2nd is the common everyday one, 3rd was one built with stronger hull, but had serious problems as weaponry kept locking up when hit by a bomb, and the 4th is the one with four BFreds.
