Re: Your favourite campaigns
Currently playing Derelict which is the first user-made campaign I've tried for Fs2, voice acting in general has to be one of the main things that lifts the quality of campaigns when done well.

I'm also really looking forward to Black Water Operations coming out (besides BtRL) after playing the demo when that came out, I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait.

Re: Your favourite campaigns
Voice Acting is definitely a good thing, but don`t miss out on quality campaigns just because they don`t have it.

Anyways, I replayed Desperation 1 & 2 these days. It`s a bit over the top in some places, but it`s good fun. Especially the 4th mission in chapter 2. That has to be one of my favorite missions ever.

The funny thing is that for some reason the campaign file only went up to mission four even though there are 7 missions, which I had to play from the techroom. Singh needs reappear and finish this campaign. And "a journey of the forgotten." <_<

Re: Your favourite campaigns
I'm playing through Derelict right now and really enjoying it. The story seems very well thought out and once you get past the first few missions (yes they are boring, but they do work in the sense that they set up a lot of the plot for later on), the action really picks up. Good stuff.

I downloaded a whole big bunch of the other campaigns listed in this thread and I'm looking forward to checking them out. Really have to commend everyone who's made this awesome content freely available to all. You done good! Cheers.
Go all out or don't go out at all.

I believe he said he's currently moving out of India to the UAE. (I think that's where it is)

Re: Your favourite campaigns
Woah ok then think now since I finished all the voiced campaigns, which should I go for first?
Have Inferno, TBP, and normal SCP freespace.

Play Blue Planet.

Then play Inferno.

Then play TBP.

Then check out Transcend, The Procyon Insurgency, Derelict, Homesick, and Sync.

Re: Your favourite campaigns
There are 4 Must have Campaigns in my view

Derelict
Sync
Homesick
Transcend.

That's not to say there aren't other very good campaigns like Sol: A History, or Deus Ex Machina, but I find tose 4 to be a cut above anything other Freespace Campaign I've played.

Ah yes. Darius sent me a PM a few seconds ago paraphrasing your reply.

No wonder it didn't work. I cleared all my controls... :nervous:

Re: Your favourite campaigns
PI was also one of the best campaigns I've played. It had difficult missions, but they were mixed in with storyline so that it was just about the right amount of plot and gameplay.

Yes. If the story wasn't so exciting, I probably would have given up on several occasions.

Re: Your favourite campaigns
I just finished Blue Planet. It was great, but I wished more could have been done with the Dante and Preserver, those were awesome ships.

BTW, does anyone have a complete list of campaigns using the Dante?

Blue Planet
Nukemod: Children of Shiva

That's it I think, for campaigns using the SSJ Dante.

Re: Your favourite campaigns
My favourite campaigns i hear (imagined) you asking? Why mood other than the JAD series for it's humour, originality, and novel SEXP use. DEM for inspiring JAD and being the first (that i know of) parody campaign. Followed by Sync and Tran. BP was fun but used external ships. I try to keep my FreeSpace camps limited to canon Ships for no  particular reason.
Campaigns I've added my distinctiveness to-
- Blue Planet: Battle Captains
-Battle of Neptune
-Between the Ashes 2
-Blue planet: Age of Aquarius
-FOTG?
-Inferno R1
-Ribos: The aftermath / -Retreat from Deneb
-Sol: A History
-TBP EACW teaser
-Earth Brakiri war
-TBP Fortune Hunters (I think?)
-TBP Relic
-Trancsend (Possibly?)
-Uncharted Territory
-Vassagos Dirge
-War Machine
(Others lost to the mists of time and no discernible audit trail)

I finished Blue Planet, and I must say that it is very well made.

I like JAD too, especially the node-blocking concept... :drevil:
