Whoah, when you put it like that, I'm thinking of a hole, but it's not a black one.

What drove you to drinking?

Life.

I noticed that it was not that smart after all. If you use it sensibly, that is.

Yeah, "Life" is about as vague as the definition of the word vague in the dictionary.

I was looking for specifics.

But it is exactly all those little things combined during life. There are many reasons, but not a single specific high priority reason.

Sometimes it is simply healthy to be drunken.

I'm getting tired of running in the weaksauce circles, so I'll just take a rest on the bench right over there. You know where to find me if you decide to suit up and man up.

It's the same way for me, and yet I understand how he feels.

I've been drinking (legally) for just about a year now, and I've never had any desire whatsoever to get drunk.  Hell, I'm into beer just for the taste, not for the alcohol. :p

I recall saying that on several occasions and in parties  Besides, isn't it alcohol that makes the taste? For me at least beers with 8 percent of alcohol taste best.

Man, do I feel like a drug dealer now?!

Serenity is awesome, Jewel Staite (greasemonkey) is one of the many women deemed worthy to "get it". I felt a disturbance in the beer force as if there was a beer based conversation i was absent from. . . .
8% are you insane? Beer's for warning up, you don't sprint from the off, you hit spirits in the last third of the night. And sprint to the finish. :p

:wtf: Where did this come from?

I mean, I agree with you completely, but still...
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Spoken like someone who has never really been drunk and enjoyed it. You must have been in the wrong company, because, believe me, being drunk is a lot of fun for the right people, (if you're with the right people).

Shouldn't that be warming up? Well on the other hand your body could look at it as a warning of things to come...

Yeah, I find the 8 % beer is best, optimum taste, gives no gas, the alcohol content actually does something and there is not so much need to run to WC, while still keeping everything under control.

I don't do stong alcohol drinks any more, it removes too many barriers, like control of violent urges, which especially in my case is quite important. While whiskey and rum are good stuff occasionally at small doses, I cannot keep those bottles in house, since the content tends to disappear at alarming rate - personal best is four hours for a rather expensive whiskey bottle (I don't recommend that). My little brother has done a lot better times with Vodka.

[Finnish drunken wisdom] Yeah, all hail king alcohol. It is indeed king, don't have any other thoughts about that stuff. [/Finnish drunken wisdom]

Meaning that learning to deal reasonably with alcohol can sometimes be quite a lesson. Most of the people (actually genes) who did a lot of it became extinct in Central Europe hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago. That's natural selection for you. While here, alcohol hasn't been that cheap before and the process is still going on.
