I'm looking for a skydome that has a planet directly below the battlefield. Something like the one in BP, but rotated so that the planet is straight down, not to one side.
It'd be helpful for my...uh...campaign. Yeah.

Bah. A few hours. That's nothing. Once, back in the days, I downloaded the Mafia demo with a dial-up. 13 ****ing hours but I did it.

K. These are the ones I could find with minimal effort (meaning, there was "skybox" in the file name). If someone is certain that there are more, do tell me, or find them yourselves.

...Why don't you FRED the mission sideways instead?

I mean, there's no such thing as "down" in space anyway. Just vectors, some of which might point to somewhere else than deep sky starfield.

...Why don't you FRED the mission sideways instead?

I mean, there's no such thing as "down" in space anyway. Just vectors, some of which might point to somewhere else than deep sky starfield.

It's more of a hassle using the Y axis in FRED as there is no grid to guide you (also you can only create ships on the grid) and mainly I find myself using the XZ movement controls. I usually do the Y positioning in the Orientation Editor.

Yeah, I do what Snail does as well, since the grid makes it easier to judge distances.

You can flip the grid around to any axis you want in FRED.

Does that rotate all ships around their own center of gravity, or does it translate their position on a circular path around the FRED co-ordinate origo as well?

It rotates everything selected around the center of the marked ship (usually Alpha 1, since it's the first ship placed.)

       Yeah, it's ****ing lame.
       In my hometown we had "Saskatchewan Place" for the local arena, now it's called "Teacher's Credit Union Place" or something like that. People just call it the "T-Cup" now. Why people have to put their lousy brand name all over an arena while erasing a name which actually matters is beyond me. Just call it Roger's Skydome. Whatever. Keep the original name though.

        But anyway . . . skyboxes are cool!

I called it a skydome because its in a dome shape, not a box-shape.
Boxes have, you know, straight edges and right angles and such. This thing is rounded...
