i am reporting this with mantis as well as soon as my activation email for that comes through.
system specs : i dont think this is relevant as this is not a graphical issue or a hardware issue.
FSO build: from fso installer so 3_6_9?
mods it affects: all as far as i know - it happens on derilict and on the media vps. and on transcend

hello HLP, i have been lurking and listning for new updates, as well as playing freespace 2 open, for some time now, unfortunatley i seem to have run into a problem with weapon loadouts. whenever I cheat or enable the troubleshoot option of 'load all weapons, even those not used' on any freespace mod that does not change the default weaponset, the game will crash, giving me an 'Error!' box with the following information

i am using the installer for freespace open i downloaded from www.fsoinstaller.com. i first noticed this while playing the transcend missionset and did not have this problem until then (i wanted to kill that pegasus with some flak but this happened...)
any help would be appreciated.

after seeing a post in the topic below this regarding the person having no weaponry, i have decided to put up a screenshot of my fs2 directory. sorry about the mess. (i think it is so messy because i had a retail fs2 installation before using the installer.)

Perhaps not errorlog but rather fs2_open.log. Do the following: run the fs2_open_3_6_10_debug build either up to the point when it crashes or until you get to the main hall. Then, quit the game and post the fs2_open.log here. It can be found in \freespace2\data.

yes, i couldnt get blueplanet to work, and i didnt follow the instructions about where to put them, moved them across now. you say that direct3D isnt supported? i have completed sync, derelict, fs2 and transcend on it, with no problems i couldn't sort out myself, but i am now trying to run with open GL to see if that makes any difference

I say. Of course, in most cases you can play in Direct3D, but there are more of those problems you have to sort out than in OpenGL. And there are numerous graphical issues that are absent in OpenGL. And cutscenes won't play in Direct3D. You might want to replay the FS2 campaign just for this reason.

just to clarify - i completed the fs2 campagin before i installed fso, in fact i installed fso because i had completed the fs2 campaigns.

But wait. You've had FS2 installed? That's right, you did mention it. I hope you've noticed that you don't need the CDs anymore.

And I seem to be unable to pinpoint a cutscene vp in your \freespace2\ folder. In that case, pick up your FS2 disks and copy all the .mve files to \freespace2\data\movies. That way you can get them to play in-game without having the CDs in.

thanks, i did notice that i didnt need cds anymore, very useful feature that. also i noticed that one of the vps files was missing, i found it in the inferno folder, i'm not sure why it was in there but it was...
