Any non "RAR" Campaigns!

 :mad: This is not great for me. The Campaigns like Sol: A History is a RAR File. Can someone post campains here that is not RAR FIled or 7Z. Thanks. :nod:

Another vote for 7-Zip. It's as free as a software can be and it will handle, among other things, .rars and .7z's. Easy to install, easy to use, doesn't waste resources or disk space and does absolutely no evil things to your computer.

Uh, yeah.  Another for 7Zip.  Why wouldn't you download it, rather than asking for ordinary zip files?

Hmm. A small comparison for you, dear BTA.

Scenario 1 - You refuse to get 7-Zip: You'll be restricted to the .zip format, which means that people will have to find campaigns, pack them up as .zips and host/upload them somewhere. The result: Slightly difficult, highly time-consuming and extremely frustrating for others, easy but incredibly slow for you, since you'll have to wait until a .zip has been uploaded.

Scenario 2 - You agree to get 7-Zip: You can immediately start finding campaigns yourself, using the Missions & Campaigns board and/or FreeSpaceMods as your source. When you find one, you just download it and extract with 7-Zip, since no one ever uses an archive format not supported by 7-Zip. The result: Other people are not concerned and therefore their lives remain easy. You'll have to see some (insignificant) trouble downloading and installing 7-Zip, but that's it.

Compare these two methods and let us know of your decision. If you choose the first... well, sucks to be you.

Well, then he should be fully banned from his computer like Titan. Having a critical approach when downloading new programs is wise, yes. But the line between a safe way of thinking and paranoia is quite thin.

Iirc ... No. It gets the more celebrated campaigns like Derelict, Sync, JAD. Basically the entire "reccomended playing" list.

7-Zip is free, yes. And I'd recommend switching to it. It can do everything Winzip can, but more efficiently.

rar... filed to zip? Rar is an archive format like zip. If you zip a rar, you still have to extract both and you'll end up back to square one.

Ohh, right, my bad. :p What you get when you quickly google and your screen gets filled with free downloads here and there. The "free of charge" part means some website doesn't charge you for dowloading a free trial you can just as well download on the company's own site...
