Re: Peter's Evil Overlord List: Relation to Real Movies or Games
Hey, all. I'm in the middle of reading Peter's Evil Overlord List, and I can't help but note that some of the rules are references to games and movies we know, so for the Hell of it, shall we list the references down here?

Rule 1: Stormtroopers...and they can't aim properly.
Rule 2: Another Star Wars reference? Or was it James Bond? Mission Impossible, perhaps? :nervous:
Rule 6: Bond and the Neo-Terran Front.
Rule 7: James Bond?
Rule 11: The Joker?
Rule 13: King Elessar, aka. Aragorn, who fell off a cliff.
Rule 15: Austin Powers and that "Lay-zer".
Rule 21: Orcs, Stormtroopers, the Galactic Terran Alliance, you name it.
Rule 23: Take it on the side of the Humans if they force an EMP to go off. :drevil:
Rule 24: Who has watched episode 62 of D. Gray-Man?
Rule 25: Descent ][, final boss. Moron.
Rule 36: Umm, Star Wars again?
Rule 38: Skywalker!
Rule 39: Oh, hi, Sauron. Lost your One Ring? Serves you right. :drevil:
Rule 40: Gundam SEED?
Rule 45: Star Wars again?
Rule 47: Skywalker again, although the problem here is that Darth Vader still has feelings. :blah:
Rule 52: Hogwarts is quite a nice target... :drevil:
Rule 56: Stormtroopers again. They shoot like I do. :blah:
Rule 62: The Death Star as quite a lot of those. In fact, the UNIVERSE has a lot of those.
Rule 69: Star Wars! Obi-Wan! Wesnoth! Delfador! Snow White! Aurora! :wtf:
Rule 75: Classic. Star Wars and Austin Powers again? Throw Agent Aika to the list too, if you've watched a drunk man knock out a group of ladies with his head, a microphone, and his elbow. :drevil:
Rule 80: Star Wars again?
Rule 84: Austin Powers again?

That's everything I an think of. I don't know or forgot the references to the rest. Feel free to add on to this list.

Did you read the copyright?

I just did; fixed. I'm not modifying the list in any way, so the first rule doesn't apply.

I was talking more about the copyright date, than the copyright itself.

Watching SW Ep 2 atm. That rule about not taunting your opponents seems to apply heavily here. If I caught a bunch of Jedi, I'd just have them shot, instead of trying to execute them in a pit fight.

The thing is, it probably would have worked if the Jedi and the Clones didn't appear later.

Nope. The pit fight failed. It was the 6 destroyer droids that woulda stopped them.

And if the 6 destroyer droids failed, then Poggle would've sent in the rest of the droid army that he had in reserve (which he later deployed to fight the clones).

Still, you have to wonder if he hadn't already anticipated the fight would fail. I mean, I doubt he'd have a battalion of SBD's and B1s in the wings just for the fun of it.

Funny to see this thread today after having just finished reading The Watchmen. Great quote near the end (paraphrasing) "Do you think I would have allowed you anywhere near me if there was any way you could stop me? I did it 35 minutes ago." And this pre-dates the Overlord list by 7-8 years.
Go all out or don't go out at all.

In JAD3, Terran Frakking Command should have shut the frak up so that Alpha 1 couldn't find him. :drevil:
