Did I see the assault gunboat fighter in one of the mod videos? (i swear i saw one or something that very closely resembled it)
Regardless I don't seem to see it listed on the ship database. Are there any plans to include it in the mod? I would very much love to see it. the gunboat is one of my favorite ships from the x-wing/tie fighter series.

The videos are not current.  They are from the previous incarnation of the mod (If you ask me, we should just take them down considering we get questions like this all the time)

The Gunboat will not be in the first release, and for now the team has no intention of making one.  In the future this might change, but for now the answer is no.

If someone were to drop a fantastic looking Starwing in my lap, POF'd and just needing tabling, I would make sure it was in the release.  The main reason we're not working on it is because we have higher priority projects.  If someone who really wanted it in made it and contributed it, we'd have no problem.  But you're right, we won't accept just any thrown together POS, or XWAU conversion.

Again, it'll be hard to turn down a high quality completed model, and not very helpful anyway, but I can't think of much we'd end up using it for.  Most of our stuff will be geared towards several generations around the original trilogy, and that's a freighter of the Old Republic.  I suppose if they'd still be around it could get stuck in somewhere eventually.  But we'd probably try to get it in the game if it was essentially done.  If for some reason the statements I've made cause a pile of models we really have no use for to show up  in my email, I can't make any gaurantees as they would all have to be properly balanced to make it into the game.  I won't let just a few ships we don't need to be the last thing keeping a release from occurring, but I'm sure they would be included eventually.

For future use, it seems that Assault Gunboat schematics are a bit tricky to find so here is a page that has at least some kind of blueprints.

If this makes a whole bunch of high quality models pop up in your e-mail, imo, you should make sure they are original creations, rather than ripping them off some one else.

For the record, however, just note that if you send us a model there's no guarantee whatsoever that we'll use it in game.  I just wanted to get that out of the way if we start getting a flood of models and don't use them, to head off the eventual "Why isn't my model in your game?" threads...

I get that. Honestly, I do. I'm just saying if you get flooded by models, just make sure its the creator who's sending you them, and they're not getting ripped off from somewhere else.

I've gone through a lot of the model repos, and no game has anything close to what we do, save for maybe another Star Wars mod.  So don't worry SK, I'd probably notice, and check anyway if I don't.
