I'm very impressed with season 5, I especially liked the newest episode. I dislike the whole Michael incident, it screams of Season 4 and SG1 Season 9-10. Although it will return (you know he got away) I hope it doesn't play as large a part.

I doubt we've seen the last of Micheal... but what about it smacks of the Ori arc? You don't see people going around saying "Hallowed is Micheal."

*Looks up next episode*

Ah! We get to see the Asurans again! ;7

lucky you are, ive always wanted to see Atlantis. ive seen sg-1 in all seasons, it really lost its fun appeal after season 8 however i hear of Rodney Mckay flies the Canadian flag and the chief of all electonical components on Atlantis.

i can't find Atlantis anywhere in Israel. i might go on ebay hopefully someone ships world wide for the first 4 seasons.

on another note whats this news about another spin off on the stargate series?

I love Stargate but I'm now trying to focus my attention on Battlestar Galactica.

I have never watched Stargate Atlantis, what I'm watching appear to be the least episodes of SG-1.

I mean that the Mike arc had the same cheesiness as the last of SG1. I didn't like it that much.

I like Atlantis better than SG-1. SG-1 was a great show........but I couldn't stand the lead character, jack o'niell. I don't know why but his personality and even the way he talks is annoying. Sheppard on the other hand is very likable.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Jack was the best Stargate character period. Sheppard is OK, but Jack will always be the best.

which is the reason for why i said it lost its fun appeal after season 8.

i know of EZTV, however they do 350mb formats a season. i will only consider it if i can not get it in the real world befor heading into the cyber underworld.

Dr. Daniel Jackson would like a word with you.

Seriously, O'Neill was pure hilarity most of the time, but I've always liked Daniel better.

In Atlantis, it's probably McKay that takes that role... odd, since when he showed up on SG-1 I detested him.

Pfft. Sam Carter all the way. Even better when she popped over to Atlantis for a year. Sam with long hair and tight leather: Rawr.

The Jack, Sam, Teal'c, Jackson combo is one of those magical combinations that made (the majority) of SG-1 great, even when Jonas replaced Jackson for a season, it was still "really good". When Jack got replaced, things really went to hell. I forgot the exact season.

Atlantis is a good show, but it's totally different from SG-1. The atmosphere is different, the feeling is different. In SG-1 the humans were a weak race, just beginning to step out into space. Earth stole a few small ships in the beginning, toward the end of the good seasons we had the Prometheus, but it was mostly relegated to defending Earth. Every kill the Prometheus got felt like an accomplishment, even if it was just an Alcesh. Every System Lord brought down by SG-1 was an amazing work. The ancients were gods who understood things that would kill a human mind.

In Atlantis, even when Wraith queens are killed, it just lacks any sense of awe... it's like a FPS. You just pump another round in the shotgun and start looking around for another one. The Deadalus can kill virtually anything from any race, from the Wraith to the Ancient replicators, from cruisers to battleships.

remember when jack first spoke to master bray'tac about hammond? shortly after bray'tac met with general Hammond, saying something about Hammond being from Texas and patting his own head. i found that funny. and a few episodes later, when that man activated a device to rewind time, i liked the part where jack and teal'c where playing golf in the gate room with the star gate active and hammond caught them .

i think they are the best bits along with jack struggling to make sense and his constant referencing to kid shows.

Well the Wraith ships are kind of weak, but then again they are supposed to be that way. They kill you with superior numbers and overwhelming force. Besides, they really don't have much in the way of armor.

Early in the show before the Deadalus class was given Asgard* beam weapons (which for some wierd reason the Asgard themselves didn't use) killing a Wraith Hive wasn't that easy and took some unorthodox tactics combined with fancy flying. Even with Asgard beam weapons, there aren't very many Daedalus class ships, but there are several dozen Hive ships and many (perhaps even hundreds) of Cruisers. In a head to head fight the Terrans would lose by weight of numbers. They did see that with the Wraith weakened (by Atlantis, the civil war, and the replicators) there would be a new order of sorts. I'm interested in seeing who the next big bad guy is going to be.

*I really think the Asgard got a raw deal. They were the only one of the original 4 great races who were still at least attempting to follow through with the principles of the alliance (basically stopping bad guys). The Ancients transcended and for the most part couldn't care less anymore, the Nox went to their planet and just hid, and the Furlings just vanished without a trace. Totally unfair. I hope they come back at some point. :P

Atlantis devolves into "Sheppard saves the day again!" far too often. SG-1 at least had some variety in the person saving the day, if nothing else, and much better character dynamics to boot.

i can think of a few missions, the two bumbling scientists that become unlikely heros by saving sg1 from that temple , bray'tac saving the secret human camp that has refugees from the jaffa ranks and tok'ra. and the defecting gou'ld spy on jonas' world to save is planet from naquadria explosions later on.

i was hoping many of these other characters like that secuirty officer, or mckay or even that woman warrior. if it's always Sheppard winning the day then atlantis might be off my must buy list.

Love Atlantis as much as I do SG-1.  They are fun shows with a serious theme but they are always lighthearted about it.  I just like the formula.
