Looks a bit too simple to me. Easter eggs are usually more well concealed... Like, a certain sequence of unusual events must be triggered by the player or something...

Heck, I'm still not done adding most of the easter eggs. So far there are only 4 implemented.

and it can be a bit hard to come up with a creative way to trigger them in some mission..ya know..

Arr...Kings bounty: The Legend is sucking up my time. I'm trying to force myself to leave the game for a bit and finish the last 2 missions, but it's a loosing battle

In order to do that you're going to target a ship, then target the closest enemy, then target its subsystems, then target a random hostile, then match its speed, then target the closest hostile again, then switch the HUD light on/off, then target a ship present in the escort list and finally target its subsystems...

It should work...not a single shot is fired...

That line will probably be a global on/off toggle (campaign variable) to trigger a few simple easter eggs (those that are hard for the player to trigger otherwise due to the time wheb they are supposed to appear)

All others will have to be found and triggered manually

Alas, Real Life (TM) has taken my new FREDers away. They did manage to finish 3 missions and half-finish one, so it's not such a tragedy.


Two half-complete and 1 to finish missions to go.
Then more easter egg adding and testing.

FYI - the campaign was supposed to have 2 short branches.. Due to the first staff disapereance I axed one.
Now I'm axing the other. No big loss, it was only 2 missions.

I also had to axe one very special easter egg - Fighting the bad boss - a 3D modeled floating head of Derek Smart (with floating hands holding a p.h.d.) with eye laz0rs.

Fallout 3, world of Good, AMOC and a few other things have been dragging me away from finishing COTS, but I'm very close to being down now.

I should have a test beta in a few days...assuming the campaign editor stops crashing like crazy!
