Right after i get transferred to the raven squad, I do the tutorial where the cruiser is supposed to shoot missiles at you. I wait a few seconds, and the cruiser leaves. Why does this happen? isnt the cruiser supposed to shoot missiles at me so tht i can use my countermeasures? I was stationary at the time, and i think it left when i started moving. I'm pretty new to the game, so forgive me if i say/do something stupid. I've checked the forum search engine, and as far as i can tell, theres nothing on it. Im using the .10 version of the game.

Might be related to the difficulty level. On easier settings the cruiser might skip shooting missiles. It's nothing dangerous, since you probably know how to use countermeasures: when there is an incoming missile (pointed out by a repeating, alarming sound), wait until it's close enough, drop a countermeasure and take evasive action.

That makes sense, the difficulty level is on easy, so it probably just skipped shooting missiles. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure it should shoot missiles.  Up until recently I've always played on easy, and I remember it shooting missiles all the time.

It could be as simple as you not being in the turret's firing cone. Fly circles around it (maybe stay around the 'bottom') and see if that helps.

I play it all the time, retail and SCP. It always shoots missiles.

i'm gonna try to replay it again, but on a harder difficulty and see what happens.

Just played it again on medium difficulty, and it didnt shoot any missiles again.

Try getting closer. It might just be that you are too far away.
