I tried it out briefly, but I didn't like it. The new navigation bar is hideous, it doesn't even let you browse through previously typed addresses. I went back to Firefox 2 after seeing that. Major disappointment.

Assuming Koth is doing what I think he's doing, I'm actually not using the Chrome  beta right now because it's not very stable on my system. I do agree that people are being ridiculous in their critique of it.

I think Firefox 2 is inappropriate for my MacBook, because it locks up momentarily whenever I try to open too many tabs on HLP. Firefox 3 doesn't do that, although it did crash once, for whatever reason.

The scrolling speed of Firefox 2 is not dynamic, which gives you greater control over which part of the page you want to view. However, when you scroll around in Firefox 3 very fast, the browser stupidly creates an "inertia" effect.

i do not see the difference in forefox 3, as long as it does what i ask of it. mainly to connect to sites then thats fine by me, i do not have my computer save my history so i can remember it. at least this way my mind gets some much needed execise before the day begins or work down to the end of a long day.

I've tried FF3 before too. I don't like that huge, bloated, slow feeling Firefox got. I'll stick with a good lightweight browser like Safari. It's the fastest one anyway.

Safari's good, so long as you don't visit Wikipedia often and don't mind the "glitch" that occurs whenever you run your mouse over the "Hosted..." tab at the top of this page.

I really like Firefox 3.  The new address bar is great although its not as good of a replacement as I thought it might be for bookmarks.  Still need traditional bookmarks.

Well, I'm not to fond of the new Firefox either.
The think a smarter approach would have been to move many of the new features to extensions and keep the main software as slim and lightweight as possible.
For example, I'd bet not a lot of people are interested in things like bookmark tagging. Despite all the effort, these things leave FF3 with quite a large memory footprint.
Also, the new certificate handling is a real pain in the ass.

FF3 is almost mind-bogglingly faster on several sites that I visit than FF2 was, so it won me over almost the instant I upgraded.  I'm a big fan of the dialog-box text recovery upon a crash, too, since that caused me a great deal of grief on several occasions in the past.  Most of my extensions upgraded promptly, and I managed to find better replacements for those that didn't.  I can count the number of times I use the address bar per week on one hand, so I don't think I'm even aware of what the changes there do; I do know that there's an extension available to revert it back to the FF2 behavior.  As a whole, the thing feels much more stable than its predecessor; I haven't had any major problems at all since the upgrade.

Nor have I. The only thing I dislike is the scrolling inertia, but otherwise, Firefox 3 is really good. My Mac's Internet connection is always unstable, so the option to save tabs and reload them upon quitting is a boon to me. In most respects, it serves me very well, and I like it.

I just recently upgraded to FF# and hated it at first. I gave it a couple days and now I don't think I could go back to FF2. A lot of websites load faster and once you get used to the new address bar it comes in pretty handy for stuff.

Occasionally, it seems that Safari cannot load Wikipedia. I got that quite a few times at the start of the year. If there was a recent patch, this problem may not exist anymore.

To the people who don't like FF3 because of <insert reason here>:

Firefox 3 can be customized to function and look exactly like Firefox 2, while being simultaneously faster and more secure.  Just like Vista can be made to look exactly like XP or Win98.

Visual appearance should never be a make-orb-break, and if it is then you aren't playing with the configuration enough.
