Good day everyone ,

I m using 3ds7 and my friend 3ds2008, he make a model with 3ds2008 but the 2008 max format and it can not be opened with 3ds7.

To export it , i need to open it with 3ds7 but when we use the .3ds format we have more than 1000 stl error (open edges) we do not have on its original format.

So here come my question :
Is there any other less lossy format to open that model ? (it's already completely uvmapped and mapped  so we would like to keep it while converting.)

$Formula: ( every-time
   ( has-time-elapsed "0" )
   ( Do-Nothing
   )
   ( send-message
      "#Dalek"
      "High"
      "Pro-crasti-nate"
   )
   )
)
+Name: Procratination
+Repeat Count: 99999999999
+Interval: 1

Try obj or dae (collada)

dae could not be opened with 7 and i could not find obj under 3ds2008.
I m checking the web to see if i can download plug in to support those format

Thanks you.

You'll have to install the Collada plugin to open DAE files:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/colladamaya/

The Collada XML format supports a lot more stuff compared to OBJ. (lights, cameras, helpers, animations and user properties and more)
