:(  Had a chance to buy a M-16 but never liked the size of it.  I buy most guns in a youth model, even larger rifles change out the old beat up stocks with the heavier synthetic ones.  If ya run across an MG3 STEAL IT!!!! :D
It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

Here's more information about some of the weapons used in Singapore:

Singapore Assault Rifle (SAR) 21

The SAR 21 is a 5.56 calibre gas operated bullpup rifle fitted with a 1.5x Optical Scope and Laser Aiming Device to assure fast target acquisition. SAR 21 is compact, lightweight and rugged. It also has safety features like patented pressure vent holes to release high pressure and Kelvar plate at the cheek rest.

M16S1

The COLT M16 is one of the most combat proven weapon systems in the world. The M16S1 rifle is a 5.56 mm calibre, lightweight gas operated shoulder weapon capable of semi-automatic and fully automatic.

SAW Ultimax 100

The SAW is a fully automatic rifle that fires the 5.56mm ball and tracer ammunition. It is equipped with a foldable, adjustable bipod and a detachable barrel (MK III, MK IIIA ONLY) that allows quick barrel change. It is gas - operated and magazine - fed (30 rds mag or 100 rds drum mag) with an open bolt system. The SAW is capable of delivering a high volume of fire on the enemy.

General Purpose Machine Gun

The General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) is used to support the infantry in offensive combat. It provides a heavy volume of controlled and accurate fire that is beyond the capabilities of individual small arms. It also can be fitted with weapon sight such as Nighthawk and Kite Sight.

Looks a lot like the Israeli Negev (the weapon, not the desert! :p). Sounds like it has the same features, too.

Ahh, yes - we call them the MAG (stands for something in Hebrew, but it works just as well in English - MAchine Gun  ). You can see a few of them in the background of the pictures I put up here. :D

Oh yes, and while you're at it, check out Israel's latest, the Tavor.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I should have expected this I guess...hehehe.....

I'm back, Setekh. What took you so long to notice?!:p

Looking at the Tavor and the SAR 21 and then there is the Steyr Aug, I wonder if having bigger trigger guards and ammo magazines behind is the trend now?

The good things about the SAR 21 is that it is lighter than the M16, the length is made more for Asians and there is no need to zero the rifle sinice you use the scope.

Oh yeah......well, after using it for a few times, I think it is not a really good rifle.....prone to faults when firing and you have to zero the rifle...

The Tavor looks good too. It can fit a M203 Grenade Launcher. Good for blasting small obstacles.

Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.

Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

I remember my time in the RAF cadets, 2:30am, winter, sleeping in a tent on my own, then having to stand two. CO was real angry, made us go on a "little" run.

Here's a little history about the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for you guys. Some of you may or may not know this but the SAF was established with the help of the Israelis. Back then, Singapore was independent from Malaysia and the British pulled their forces out. When nobody wanted to help us establish an army, the Israelis came along and helped us.

That's what my seargent told me.

Very true - from what I understand the Israeli Army has had a hand in helping to establish and/or train numerous militaries and military branchess around the world - especially special forces units. :D
