Re: Those special FreeSpace moments...
First time you see Shivans in FS1.

And, following in that vein, the first time you intercept a bomb before getting shields and, consequently, get WTFPWNZORZDLOLBBQ by the shockwave.

Re: Those special FreeSpace moments...
I've always enjoyed the final mission where one blows up the Lucifer. I always take an Apollo and ML-16 lasers to add a dose of irony to the battle.

Boystrous 19 year old temp at work slapped me in the face with an envelope and laughed it off as playful. So I shoved him over a desk and laughed it off as playful. It's on camera so I can plead reasonable force.  Temp is now passive.

I recall there was one bit of pilot chatter in "Homesick" that was quite humorous.  It was pilots sharing skuttlebut about the new "GTVA Colossal", which had parts from 12 Lucifer class destroyers in it.

That was the one that jumped in front of SJ Sathanas 1138 and went, "This is the GTVA Col...HOLY CRAP! FULL STOP! FULL ST-..."

There was the Colossus X-2 or something. And the Colossus 3000AD...

I think it's the X-2, but I can't remember.

I loved when the ridiculous disco display went on and all Alpha 1 could say was "Sweet merciful crap."

Oh, don't remind me of JAD. I'll die from my lol!

And don't say ''Darek Smart'' again. It kills me too. (That disco!)

Jad IV might be a while. . . . :nervous:

I remember the great war, mid-resupply at three percent health in a rusty near dead Apollo. . .when the support ship bought the farm and took me with it.

The ending of Sync...

And, in one of the nebula missions before that, I was trying to take a look inside Beta 2's cockpit. Right then, he got blasted by a Shivan AAA, coming out of nowhere.

Re: Those special FreeSpace moments...
He got it? Wow. Tough luck.

Oh yeah, then there was that time when I was playing Argonautica in a Horus. At 23% hull integrity with full shields, I got killed by an exploding Piranha. Since then, I've disliked the Horus more than any other Vasudan fightercraft, save the Thoth and Osiris.
