An on the road update for everyone.
I love my phone and it's qwerty keyboard.
Anyway ~ I have bee travelling with my boyfriend, his nephew, his mom, the younger sister and her daughter from Arkansas, USA to Washington, DC for the funeral. Since the election, I have a noticed a somewhat aire of relief as if, finally... we did it. But its an enpty feeling, and some who read this may know what i mean... Some elements of the community have startd just going nuts. Some are not coping well with history, taking to the streets in massive parties and injuring innocents. Not even 2 days into his president-elect status, and Obama's fandom has rooted itself into the world, and has acepted that the time has come for everyone to just accept one another. And at this time, some are not able to accept reality yet. I have seen old men - who have lived long and painfully, for just this day - cry, prestigious soldiers salute the citizens they protect, and children watch in awe as the world around them smiles, with, for once, all arms open wide.
I am proud to be an American. I am proud to be a citizen of this age. I fear for those who are unable to cope and hope that in time they will find thier own way to come to face it. It is not my choice of candidtae, and I completely disagree with his policies... but he alone may mend the social stigma our nation has. I hope once again we may walk the streets of the world, and be smiled at and looked up to.
It's all coming to a new chapter.
