I'm having the same problem as this fellow did a few months ago http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,51408.0.html. Namely the planets in my game look terrible. I tried linking to the file that Lobo in that thread recommended be downloaded http://koti.mbnet.fi/reiler/FunkyFreeSpaceStuff/CardinalSpearLowResPlanets.7z but as you'll notice that link doesn't go to a Freespace file anymore, it is now in fact some guy pointing at me and telling me I'm a homo. Very unhelpful!

So can I get some help with this? Also, I can't help but notice the huge contrast between the rather dark space backgrounds in this and the nice pretty backgrounds in FS1 port. Is that intentional? I mean, I guess the space around the Earth is pretty dark and plain, I was just wondering. my main issue is the planets. Help.

Oi. That's just my error page, since the file cannot be found from the server. It's not there anymore, since it was uploaded to FreeSpaceMods. And the link FUBAR gave is taken from the Cardinal Spear release thread.

I take it you don't have Lightspeed's Nebulae. They are also at FreeSpaceMods.net. Get them. I'm not sure, but Sol might not have much background stuff, since... well, Sol doesn't have pretty nebula backgrounds. There should be more on later missions.

And Lobo, I don't believe I have Lightspeed's Nebulae. I'll swing over to that site and pick them up, I'm in the process of optimizing my Freespace prettiness.
