Does anyone know how to get the normal reccomendation on Pandora's Box in FS1? Its the mission where you are supposed to scan the shivan cargo depot, but they destroy it before you can get to it.

Not all the cargo is destroyed. There's about half a dozen containers left.

Use the "U" targeting control to target unscanned cargo.

Yea 6 cargo containers survive. You scan all of those and then destroy the sentry guns and jump out. You still dont get the normal recommendation.

There is no "normal" recommendation for this mission.  As the text you saw stated, there's simply no way to legitimately scan all of the cargo, as the Shivans self-destruct most of it long before you're in scanning range.  In fact, if you open up the mission in FRED, you'll see that managing to scan all the cargo earns you a debriefing accusing you of collaborating with the Shivans, and a recommendation text instructing you not to cheat. :p

That's awesome.
Pity there isn't anything like that if you manage to complete they "impossible" missions in FS2.

I do have this feeling it was mentioned somewhere in the games, in addition to the keyboard configuration of course.

Probably the 'Tips' dialog box that pops up when you have a new pilot. E, B, Y, R, U, S, K, and N are my most used targeting controls.

Yeah, there's no debriefing stage for saving the Colossus in Their Finest Hour, or for surviving Apocalypse.
