Questions for the europeans and savvy travelers
Hey everyone, its been awhile since Ive been online (but I doubt anyone missed me  :p ).  Anyway, I am currently living in Costa Rica right now for 2 more weeks but I just found out that a friend of mine is getting married in July in Novi Sad Serbia and well, Im using the wedding as an excuse to go to Europe for the first time.  I have a few months to make a bunch of money but needless to say I need to go to Europe (at high season regretably) on the cheap.  These are some of the measures Im planning on taking.

Fly from Boston (or JFK) to London and take the train or bus the rest of the way.
Stay with family and friends (in Italy and Paris respectively) and hostels the rest of the way
Drink Sparingly  :ick:
Cook meals that are both filling and portable (any suggestions?)
Look for coupon books in major cities I will visit
Use the hell out of my student discount.

But as for the trip...
I want to fly from Boston to London and spend 2 days there (anyone wanna take in a yank for awhile?)
Then spend 2 days in Paris with my friend
Somehow make it to Italy and see my long lost family in Tuscany
Make my way to southern Italy and take a ferry and then ultimately make my way into sarajevo and Belgrade
And maybe then somehow get to athens and fly out of there (or something).

¿Any suggestions about where to stay and how to keep it cheap?
Thanks!

Wouldn't be cheap anyhow, the rooms are charged by the hour and not by the night!

You could always check out the Youth Hostels if you don't mind roughing it a bit. Most countries have a YHA website I think?

Drink Sparingly  :ick:

if it's booze, and it'll probably be, then it's the only way to drink. All the rest is abuse, and we've got enough Brits and other fools who can't hold their liquor as it is.
For the rest: enjoy yourself
