Graphics glitch concerning beamweapons

After upgrading to 3.6.10 the "blub" of light that should appear at a beamturret`s base when firing, does not appear. This seems to happen on only selected beam turrets. Most notably the shivan ones, while other turrets like the terrans are ok.
I dont know if this is a known problem concerning 3.6.10 (since its a beta and all) or if it has something to do with my specs or a corrupted file. 

My specs:
- Vista 64x
- NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
- 4GB RAM
- T8300 Intel core duo

It is a known beta issue. Someone may be along shortly with a working TBM. I'd provide you one, but then you would have entirely different problems.

Additionally, reading or searching the 3.6.10 Beta thread should garner a solution regarding values and modifications.

Easy and pretty solution: download Bobboau's Beams from freespacemods.net.

Hmm...apparently I`m stupid. The download buttons on freespacemods.net only links to a jpeg picture, not an actual download
EDIT: Downloading now. Apparently the site though I was linking to it, instead of attempting a direct download. Just rebooted firefox and everything worked fine

Another question: Where am I supposed to put those beam-files in order to get it working with the rest of the 3.6.10 mediavp`s? Im not familliar with FSO`s way of reading files and I dont want to screw up my install

.tbm to \freespace2\mediavps\data\tables and the rest to \freespace2\mediavps\data\effects. Create these folders if/when necessary.
