Re: Remember the Cold War?
If this makes the Warsaw Pact return from the grave, I'll laugh. Then construct a bomb shelter in my basement.

Boystrous 19 year old temp at work slapped me in the face with an envelope and laughed it off as playful. So I shoved him over a desk and laughed it off as playful. It's on camera so I can plead reasonable force.  Temp is now passive.

Re: Remember the Cold War?
Well I suppose with the military stretched thin, its PR a nightmare and the economy limping along the conditions for Russia challenging the States are probably the best they've been in decades.  On the other hand most of the eastern European countries are more interested in the EU and NATO then what Putin's selling so i doubt we would see a reestablishment of Warsaw.

Re: Remember the Cold War?
I wish everyone in the world could just put the nukes away . . . but that's rather too optimistic I'm afraid.

Also, I have to figure that the US is at least smart enough to know how feasible a missile defense shield is before spending vast amounts of money on it. If they thought the Russians could defeat it in 2 years, they wouldn't have spent 40 years designing it. A system that could circumvent a national missile shield could theoretically circumvent ship defenses, effectively rendering every fleet in the world obsolete. If the Russians have that technology, I'd have to ask, why the hell isn't Putin the King Hegemon yet?

Oh, and that clock is really cute . . . put it away so I can get some sleep tonight, hmmm?

I really don't think we're dumb enough to go along with the missle defense system thing at this point.

Re: Remember the Cold War?
It's been 5 minutes to midnight for the past several months at this point, so nothing new there.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Re: Remember the Cold War?
Yes. But it would always be SOMETHING to midnight as long as there are countries with ready-to-go nuclear weapons. If they did a Star Control and buried all the nukes, wouldn't that kind of make the clock go to something like half-past 11?
