disappointed in you.
seroiusly?
CTS?
the NEW new looking caddy's are so ugly.
espcially the cts coupe, its rear NEEDS 24 -odd inch wheels, and wheelarches to support it.
and you traded in a GT-R!??!
disappointed in you

Thanks, i appreciate it, but like i said, good luck fitting 4 people in the car... i use the car for business meetings and trips and lunches, and it just doens't work man :/

i intend to own both cars in the future, but for now i have to think practical.

and 556HP, fastest and best handling sedan in the world, is still semi-practical :D

pictures to come.

if you had to buy a 4-door car with a budget, what would you go for?

I would assume so--it's a great-handling sedan. I've never heard a front-wheel drive sled be called that. (and if you search wikipedia for cadillac cts-v you'll see it is rwd)

Anyways--the Caddy is a nice car. What did you do to your older Caddy?

God damn...  That CTS-V is insanely gorgeous.  Can I have one?  I'll be your best friend!

4 door car with a budget - well you can get caliber srt4s for like $24k.  if you had an even more limited budget, then i'd say an altima or an accord :)

when you say older caddy, are you referring to my 1980 or my 2005 V?

The 2005. Anyways--I know one car I'll never sell is the (eventually will be mine) 1956 DeVille sedan.

yup. keep looking forward to it.  those old school cadillacs are in a class of their own :)

the 2005 i still have... it's for sale, but the value on these cars have gone down the toilet...
what was a $54,000 car not even 4 years ago, is now, with under 40k miles, worth maybe $23,000... :(

Sucks. I am considering buying just a normal car though. I figure $6500-7000 total for a 2000 Volvo C70 coupe for the car, tax, title, and insurance.

Well its not a GT-R but the CTS-V is also a very awesome car and indeed it is a fair bit more practical being four doors and all that.  Well done!

CTS-V looks nice though Yank motors are a little brash for european tastes.

I've always found these 4 door supercars a bit puzzling. Y 'know, CTS-V, Audi RS4/5/6, M5, top end Evo/STi etc etc ? On face value it's a pratical 4-door but then it has a big-power engine, with big fat tyres and all the associated running costs so it's not really all that pratical.
On the other hand it's a supercar but with none of the drama or awesome shape of a coupe/supercar. So it's neither one thing nor the other.

Personally, I'd have something totally urbane for day to day (Focus, Astra, Corolla etc, something unsporty and un-pretencious) and have someting full-on for highdays and holidays. Like, I dunno, an Exige ? Or the GTR ? Or a higher-end Corvette ?

IIRC the DTS is wrong front wheel drive, hence the question.

I know what you mean but some of these cars are very pleasant handling just as an every day vehicle and then you can unleash the monster underneath if you want/need to do it.  For some people having a bit of a sleeper is perfect.

Not that this is a real comparison but my Corolla XRS looks mostly like an every day Corolla but if I put the pedal down its going to surprise people (for a Corolla).  I kind of enjoy the fact that its got just enough torque and HP for its weight to get moving at a decent rate (for a car that costs as little as it does).  I'm not under any illusions that it even compares to something like a GT-R versus CTS-V but I think the basic concept is the same.  The GT-R LOOKs like its ready to tear up the track while the CTS-V, to the uninformed, just looks like a slightly aggressively styled but largely average 4 door sedan.  I've seen a few older CTS's drive around and I may have seen a CTS-V months ago and I pointed it out to whoever I was with and they really didn't see anything in it.  Which I think is awesome actually given how well it can move.

yeah they look like normal cars, but out-perform 99.9% of cars on the road, which i think is pretty cool
