Well, that concept is more JADish/DEMish...

Actually, no, it fits with Homeworld perfectly.

Homeworld used animated sequences in between missions. They were serious-looking, believable, gritty, dark, and completely gorgeous.

Render ship shots shots to jpg,  apply artistic filters in Photoshop, do the same to star-scapes/landscapes, create the sequence and output to animated gifs in Flash MX, import to ANIview32...

I've done a little myself for an old mod based on HW1 and Cataclysms excellent beast "eyeball-infection" movie..
I'll dig em out and post em on TAP internal if i can find em..
