Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

I'll hope that it's good, but until I see it, this is what I'll be assuming...

Which name? "Morlocks" or "The Time Machine"?

How can I forget. :headz:

I got one thing in that movie that always makes me laugh. I mean when he travels through time, thats all he does. He doesen't travel through space. So firstly, he wouldn't have been able to magically travel to the states and inside a museum where all his furniture was. I guess he had installed a furniture locator so that atleast where ever he goes, its near his furniture. Also another point about time travel, if you're stationary and traveling through space, but only time, that would mean in theory that the planet has kept going and you have stayed behind. So you would have to infact move in order to stay with the earth. Think about it, thats probably why there hasn't been many time travelers, they always end up popping like firecrackers in the deep of space. :D

Eek, I've gone all too scientific again...:sigh:  Oh well, it was an ok Disney movie.
I just hope this new one gives the story atleast some credit.
I have returned... Again...

Well the new one does give credit to just about every original rendition since the guy walks into some museum in the future and winds up talking to a smart ass librarian hologram type thing which is certain the time traveler is some sort of weirdo trekkie since he keeps on asking questions on time travel. (trying to find out if the people in the future know about it, why he can't change the past, etc.)

Pilot, you have failed 3+1D geometry.

Space-time coordinates are plotted on a 4d grid (XYZ+Theta). Your assumption is that by changing the Theta coordinate, we immediately lock the XYZ coordinates. This is patently false. No action taken in realspace can EVER lock out any sort of geometric translation along any axis.

Whilst our intrepid time traveller is altering his theta coordinate, he is not doing anything to affect his XYZ coordinates, either to change them or to freeze them. Gravity and inertia continue to apply. Thus, as the Earth continues to move around the sun, the sun around the center of the Milky Way, and the Milky Way continues its journey into the depths of the inkyblack, our time traveller is carried along. Gravity holds him to the planet. He moves neithre left nor right, forward nor back, up nor down, because he wasn't moving when he started moving forward or back in time. Inertia keeps him in place. He was at rest with respect to the world upon which he sat, and he will continue to remain at rest upon the world upon which he sat until an outside force acts upon him.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

Believe it or not, time travel is possible.  However, until we can make craft that can move at the speed of light, we'll be unable to realize its potential.  :D

Damn, the movie won't be here, in this beautiful middle of nowhere for about 2-4 months. I could really use a time machine about now.

Mmmmminertia. ;)

Speaking of which, I just realised that Australia (media-backward country that we are) isn't going to get this movie at least for a few months. There goes all hopes of keeping in step with you guys. ;)
