Secret Service Screwups: Vol. I

Aside from pulling out a Glock and shooting it from the air mid flight i'm not exactly sure what they could have done to prevent that :P  I suppose in the future they could force people to remove their footwear.

Their reaction time to the event sucked. It must have taken at least five seconds for the man to take off his shoes, reach down, pick them up, stand up, aim, and fire. And that would have looked strange enough to garner attention.

Not when everyone is paying attention to a bush.

Oh.... Wow.... Um....

....

Seriously, that's a great setup for a joke.

....

I'm not going to go there, though. Those be treacherous waters.

Anyway, that was nothing TR took a bullet to the chest during the 1912 election and still finished his 90 minute speech.

Apparently there are marches demanding the Journalists' release.

To be honest, had he simply stood up and verbally attacked Bush, I'd have agreed, that is, after all, the quintessential Freedom of Speech, however, a Shoe is a weapon, even if a rather silly one, but if I attacked someone with a Rubber Duck, then it would be a weapon.

I don't like Bush, I don't agree with him on pretty much anything, but an assault is an assault, regardless of where, when and why it took place, just as Bush should not be above the law, nor should be those who say so.

Honestly, if he just got charged with battery or some such and got a fine or a bit of jail time, I would be fine with it. My worry is that he's going to end up in a gitmo like environment, and although he's demonstrated a certain lack of self preservation, I don't think he deserves it.

I would budge an ounce of respect for Bush if he pardoned the guy.

Personally, I'd settle for an on-air apology, mostly to his fellow journalists for forgetting the prime rule of journalism, don't make it personal.

Yeah, if it became a Gitmo situation, I'd be pissed, if Bush turned around and said 'No harm done, he's entitled to his opinion, though I'd prefer it if he didn't use footwear as punctuation', I'd grudgingly give him, or at least his speech-writer, some respect.

The gravest form of insult in the Middle East is...flinging a shoe?

We really need to introduce them to the fine art of yo momma jokes.

yeah, a 22 bullet. People have been shot by that caliber bullet and not even noticed it before.

According to the video, it barely took three for the guy to charge up there and unload both shoes at the president.

I like the one better where a guy got shot in the head with a nail gun and not noticed it until the next day. Apparently, he had long hair.

Or the one who lived after getting shot in the head with a railroad spike.  Phineas Gage, the split personality.

Wonder if Dubbaya plays Wii Fit, specifically the football (soccer) goalie game.  You certainly learn to dodge cleats in that game.

This is what really happened: http://www.break.com/index/what-really-happenend.html

Who makes this ****? Some Star Wars geek? If it is a SW geek they should go back and rewatch the movies, they can't even get the damn faction colours right for the laser blasts (Tie Fighter firing Rebel Red bolts)
