I never managed to fully understand this mission:

After destroying the shivan squad and being jumped by the HOL pilots (and having disposed of them), nothing happens.

Of course, I exit through subspace and get shredded by command telling me I couldn't even stand a few fighters.

Also, I seem to have a problem with this mission with the "protect the starmaster" directive. Despite all the enemies are gone (including the shivans at the end), the starmaster sits in the cargo depot. and despite all the objectives being considered as accomplished, when I exit the mission, I get reprimanded by command despite the victory music.

can anyone enlighten me?

Which campaign is this? I don't remember the Starmaster from any of the [V] camps.

I just looked and 'Loner' is a single mission that came with FS1/FSPort.

those 2 missions were from the single missions list in the silent threat extension

I feel like the mission that involved protecting the Starmaster suffered from the ever-annoying "My waypoints aren't quite right so I'm going to sit in the node and spin around forever instead of jumping out" syndrome.  I don't think I ever managed to complete it properly, either.  I don't think I remember Loner, though.
