I've been poking at a rebuild of an old design. I suppose it will be an overly large carrier when its complete. I'd like some opinions on the overall design so far, and if possible, some suggestions where it could use improvement. For the record, the four big nacelle things are the engines and they are at the aft end of the ship.

Good start. Needs lots of detail to be a carrier, tho. For some reason, it reminds me of an Argo. That's my favorite model, tho, so I suppose that's a good thing.:D

A two :yes: up for that, nice design, just needs some detail :) (isn't the base smiley infuriating?)

This thing is no where near done. This is the basic shape slapup. From here I'll be carving in bits and adding on bits, and molding other bits to fit those bits....

Some more details:
--approximately 3.4km long
-- 634 faces (if I put this in a game, it'll stop at about 1100 total, if not, it'll go up to around 20-30k of silly detail)
-- that smaller indentation on the port side is where the four hangar decks are open to space

Well, when its done, you can have the mesh if you want, Venom.

I'm working on making the hull more interesting right now, then I'll add in some more serious detailing.

Sure :)
I could use a NGTA carrier actually :) But make sure there's no intersecting polys, FS2 don't handle that well at all ( horrible clipping pbs otherwise)

I pride myself on the fact that no model I build in Lightwave has overlapping polys, thank you very much. :D

You'll have to map it, Venom. I am, so far, incapable of setting up a ship for use in Freespace (its a lot harder than Iwar2! *heh*). I'll give you the completed mesh, with some LODs and you can put weapons and stuff where you want them and put it in the game. :)

Oh, and once you've got it textured, Venom, don't forget to give it to Steak. He owes me one of his crazy sexy renders. :D
