I value life. I just don't value the life of a human more than the life of anything else. Especially a human that doesn't matter to me personally. I mean, I'd feel more sad for a dead cat. Cats are at least cute. Humans are ****ing ugly.
But anyway.
My point is less "haha, die die" and more "how exactly is this news; humans are cruel to other animals all. the. time."
I'm just not good at articulation.
You see, the thing that I have against this kind of mentality is that you're ranking a persons worthiness. Animals aren't potatoes. People aren't potatoes.
The thing that gets me more worked up about this than I would a cat is that cats are never suicidal, cats are never goaded by their fellow cats to commit suicide when other cats love him as a cat; not because cats are "cute" and people are "ugly".
If people go through life not caring about what happens to your fellow man, then we're all ****ed. If you ever wonder why corporations and governments get so corrupt, this is essentially it: Not caring about anything else.
You can feel as sad as you can for a cat, believe me I feel bad when cats suffer, too, but I don't blatantly not give a **** when people get hurt just because they're people and not cats.
But if you'd rather see a person die than a cat, I guess you're already at a point where I'm not able to be able to point out that by being apathetic in this situation, you're pretty the opposite of the person you're trying to be.
And if I'm wrong and you
do value everything equally, this being how much you value life in general, then you're
way beyond me trying to persuade you otherwise.
