T-Shaped Figure in HUD
I've always wanted to know about the little T-shaped figure that circles your circular HUD in Freespace 1 and 2.  Any ideas?  I know the arrow that circles in the same spot indicates the direction of your target but the T-shaped figure doesn't follow the same behavior.  I've thought it might be a vector indicator but I'm not sure...

Isn't the distance between the T and the Triangle the distance you have to turn to face your target?

Re: T-Shaped Figure in HUD
No.  No matter how close I am, it often doesn't change position.  I'm not talking about the indicator that shows up on the side of your screen when a ship is out of range.  I'm talking about the T-shape figure that actually sits on the circular part of your HUD.

Re: T-Shaped Figure in HUD
It's the direction your target is facing. Look it up in the Wiki. Personally, I find it rather annoying than helpful, so I always switch it off.

Re: T-Shaped Figure in HUD
Sure. In the HUD config, you can click on any element of the HUD and turn it on or off as well as change its color.

It's the target heading indicator. When it's at the top, your target is facing you; when it's at the bottom, it's facing away from you. It's only really useful when timing your missile launches. You want it in the 3- or 9-o'clock position for best results.

No, that would be Lobo.

Me, I had the same question you did, I just looked up the answer myself in the documentation.
