You could probably FRED it to a hoykey, some kind of player-use-ai and an order to dock with your current target.

****, I forgot to try it this weekend, was LAN-ing H3 and watching 'Fat-Pizza: The Movie', have to be this week's 'project' then.

I'd say slap a subach or morningstar on there, atleast give you a small chance.

If I know the appropriate flag for the ai_profiles.tbl or ship.tbl or whatever, I'll work on a demo mission

Whats so cool about it? try it, it would be nervewrecking. In a big mission Alpha 1 has a hard time keeping its escorts alive. Think about when A1 is the cargo pilot, and is guarded by all AI's.

And being a support ship in a real mission would be fun.
Tho we all know we never try or care to save them. I usually use support ships as fodder\cover.

We would get to see the tables turn and feel what they feel.

If they would atleast do a "Hey, some help would be nice" It'd probably work better. If I actually see a support ship being pursued I'll usually help it out, but they don't tell you when they're in trouble.

A freighter docks with a TAC-1, then goes off to the drop off point. When it has arrived there, it undocks with the TAC-1, and it believes it is finished with the TAC-1. But no matter what else it might do with its dockpoint--tug a cruiser, capture a fighter--its dockpoint always remembers the TAC-1.

Well atm I'm 'studying' the ships.tbl trying see what makes support ships flyable. I'll send the mission to you now.
