I'm going to indulge in my customary amusement over the comments of "Singles Awareness Day" and "Forced Affection Day", and ignore it. Valentines is for elementary school and getting candy.

Even assuming I do have to purchase affection, and I rather hope I don't, it's something that should be done much more frequently then a single day a year.

Dudes, my opinion on Valentine's Day was not any different from yours, but...hell...it's a good chance to have a good time with a partner as you would during your/her/his birthday party. Since two parties per year aren't that much let the third "party" be Valentine's Day.

been at work, had 12 shouting matches with customers (i work in tech support for a Cable provider here. Our call center covers the whole country, roughly 180k users of cable tv, internet and telephone. there is roughly 8 of us per shift. When **** hits the fan... the fan blows up...) regarding our switch from standard analog TV distribution to DVB-C... Whiners all of em.


Neways, afterwards, went to a friends place with my gf to play some d20, played it from 6PM till 10:30PM, then i took over DM-ing and we started to play the long awaited fantasy campaign, forgetting the d20 as it was tiresome, we played till 3AM when i basically fell out of the chair from tiredness.

also, i got myself a kick-ass laptop for $1k. turion x64 x2, 4GB ddr2 667, ati 3650 with dedicated 256 megs of ram for itself, 320 gigs HD. the bloody thing is a ****ing murderer.

I've refrained from saying anything about it until today because in the days before Valentine's Day all I ever hear is "women want candy, flowers, and jewelry" and "if a woman says she doesn't want anything, she will be PISSED if you don't get her candy, flowers, and jewelry."

I think, personally, I'd be super happy with receiving flowers and candy any time. Especially candy. I love candy. Flowers are sweet, unless they are expensive or an "I'm sorry" present. I'd prefer wildflowers from my yard than frigging "I'm sorry" flowers.

But if I only got flowers/candy on V-Day, I'd think that whoever I was dating was uncreative and easily swayed by propaganda. And prefers to believe stupid stereotypes over knowing anything about me.

I hate clichés. A lot. >.<
