Re: Rebellion & Sega to make AVP3?
AvP1 was more arcade with each mission essentially being a one off. There was a gold upgrade that added more weapons and mid-level save-game options.
AvP2 had a "campaign" style single player experience and bore little resemblance to the first game.

AvP1 felt purer but is probably the more flawed. It did have proper pulse rifle sound f/x so wins by default, thanks very much.

I'd get both as you can get them for next-to-nothing nowadays.

Either way from what I've heard about Sega's recent releases I'm not too optimistic about the quality of this one.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

AvP doesn't work on my PC, no doubt due to upgrading to a 7600GT  :(
Thief2 gives driver errors too  :(

I used to play AvP 2 online all day long. I was god on a Marine or Assault Predator. No alien (or human) could beat me. Of course, that was before Counter Strike. I would like to see an AvP 3.

AVP 1 or 2? I recall AVP1 had issues with Windows XP.

Re: Rebellion & Sega to make AVP3?
issues with newer drivers actually
now thankfully fixed (it only took 2 years, 20-30 pages on nvidias own forum and a fan to locate the problem and come up with a solution for nvidia to get up off their asses and fix it)
