Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
I have no use for introductory crap (as pessimistic as that sounds, it's just because I want to get on with explaining the campaign itself).

The Story
24 Years After the Second Shivan Incursion

After the Neo-Terran Rebellion that occured not long before the Second Shivan Incursion, the GTVA had gathered enough data from the Ancients to rebuild what we all know as the Knossos Device.  All seemed well, until we sent an old Orion-class destroyer through the newly activated node, and never saw it again.

The GTD Achilles was captured by what seemed to be a pirate force currently roving the asteroid belt of Sol.  At least, we thought it was a pirate group.

The Terran Solar Alliance is what is left of the Galactic Terran Alliance, founded after the destruction of the Sol jump node.  This is what they have been plotting for just under sixty years.  The TSA is more powerful than we anticipated, because a single installation (the one at Sol at the end of the Great War) and a single destroyer was all they needed to build an entire fleet.  The Achilles was not the destroyer they needed.  They already had everything they needed.  And over the course of 56 years, they built their armada, with Sol under complete anarchy.

Just before we were going to engage the armada in Sol, nearly every destroyer in Terran-Vasudan space was repositioned in Regulus.  Why, you ask?  Well, a certain army of red-and-jet-black SJ Sathanas class superdestroyers emerged in a remote system just outside of Regulus, and decimated our fleet in the system located next in the jump node chain leading to Regulus.  With the entire Terran-Vasudan Armada defending the nodes from 10 Sathanas superdestroyers remaining from the 90 encountered in the Second Shivan Incursion, this allowed the TSA to invade many of our systems, starting with everything in Ribos, Antares, Vega, and Vasuda.  Either we destroy part of the TSA and fight back this claustrophobic war, or we lose all of Terran-Vasudan Space to Shivans and hypocritical Terrans.

-------------------------------------

Alright, well, 10 Sathanas destroyers may seem like a lot, but that leaves a lot of creative room, for how the GTVA will break out of the closing-in threat on either side.

Discuss.

:welcomesilver:

Sounds pretty good. Sounds a bit like Inferno though.
You going to FRED the whole thing yourself?

Doesn't sound too bad although Inferno (judging by R1 which is discounted now) is going on similar lines.

He can make his own story. It might be just as good or better  ;)

Re: Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
I've already worked out several plot devices for more in depth story.  I looked into Inferno, hoping it wouldn't be too similar... Let's just try and keep the distinction clear.

And if anyone would like to FRED a few missions for me, that'd be nice. :D

Nice to have a new possible campaign ^^

go on :D

I like the idea of Sol being completely rebuilt from ashes while the fire is still going, as opposed to the INFA version, where it's just a divided utopia.

It's not a utopia.

Re: Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
Well, it's at least semi-stable.

Re: Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
The TSA is what's left of the GTA fleet that existed in Sol.  It managed to evolve, but since they didn't have but one science cruiser, research and development was limited to the development of only a handful of new craft, such as an advanced assault fighters to the tune of the GTF Loki's maneuverability.

Not to mention that over fifty years of separation also led to a nice fleet of destroyers.  We're just lucky that killing a fleet of Orion class destroyers is easier than taking out a Sathanas superdestroyer.

Re: Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
Yeah, but how easy will it be after we destroy 10 Saths?

Re: Announcing my (unnamed) campaign.
If the Sathanas fleet takes out several Orions and a few Hecates in little time, then I wouldn't be surprised if distributing the fleet evenly after taking out the TSA is what ends up happening.

Then again, it might not be 10 Saths.  It might be 10 Saths and several other capships.

Spoiler:
I already plan on involving an SD Lucifer somewhere in there, but maybe after taking out a few Saths first.

I might have a few creative ways of destroying all of the Sathanas.

Spoiler:
I guarantee there will be a subspace mission.

lol. SGWP2.
I luled hard at that mission. Especially cause I `k'ed the three Saths, collapsed the node, and still passed.

A subspace mission regarding Saths. Yet... Sath's don't have shields do they? So there's really no benefit/difference by having them in a subspace mission.

Except for how they'll take out the node if they go. Probably.

Oh True, it'd be somewhat of a suicide mission to some extent, the shockwave would decimate nearly all the light craft in the blast radius.

You won't be fighting Saths in subspace.

Spoiler:
You'll be fighting a Lucifer (again), except this time they aren't taking chances with the node--they're sending a boarding party to capture the ship and destroy it from the inside out by "capturing" it with a boarding party.  The next mission will involve the boarding party planting a bomb on the ship and leaving it before it explodes.

Spoiler:
I don't understand. The Lucifer explodes either way unless you make a complex event where the Lucifer is only internally wrecked (you need a new model to make it believable) and so the explosion will most likely result in another destabilized subspace tunnel.

Spoiler:
I think he meant they'd push the big red button AFTER Lucy left subspace.
