[mobius]Even a "The following has been written by an idiot" is better than replacing everything with "I R ITALIEN".

The stupid thing is that my posts are unreadable now. I don't mind being ashamed, but hell... make them readable![/mobius]

Actually, I can clearly read your posts for the first time. It's like getting new glasses. Or having your friend get an extreme makeover. Welcome back to reality buddy.

I think he meant unreadable referring to 'I R ITALIEN' and not th thing he did with the [i] tags within the [mobius] tag thing he did to have funky tags floating around (O_o why?)

Though it seems like the mobius tag adds a space now.

I only want to see what the general community thinks of colored posts, not the persons posting them.

I for one think that Maeglamor and Black Wolf earned their colored text tags over the course of a long and storied history as members of HLP.  (And almost as importantly, they never italicized whole posts.)  Mobius, however, is a relative newcomer and didn't so much earn his tag as receive it on a whim, since I added it as an afterthought while running some forum maintenance.  I have since reconsidered, and I think it would be best if the [mobius] tag was disabled.  It will no longer apply any formatting to its enclosed text.

As for whether Mobius himself should continue to use blue italics, judging from the reactions of just about everybody on this thread and elsewhere, I would strongly recommend that he discontinue the practice.

My $0.0279I don't see the problem with coloured font at the moment - it's not like everyone uses it. I'm still to decide if a thread like this will encourage more people to use different fonts. As long as they don't use glow text or super-radio-active colours, especially bright red, constantly.

Like others have stated, an option for turning coloured font off may be a good idea.

A reminder to everyone; you can disable (admin) avatars in your profile "Look and Layout Preferences", it's right next to the setting which disables signatures. Disabling avatars does not hide project badges however.
