Using things in unique ways
Recently I came up with the idea of having the GTI Acheron station be transported by a Triton freighter by adding dockpoints to it (Turns out the prongs of the Triton fit quite nicely over the middle of the Acheron if it's sideways!) It seems practical and in-universe it would give Command the ability to rapidly set up a powerful blockade or defense perimeter anywhere it wants. To my knowledge this has never been done before, and I'm quite proud with how it turned out.

So I was just curious, what other innovations have people done along those lines? I'm always interested to see when a ship is used in a way its creators never quite intended.

Is it possible to dock a Mjolnir with an Argo? :drevil:

Just Another Day. Especially a certain cutscene in JAD2.

I can't look at a Setekh without cracking up, anymore XD

And I can picture it now, Argos with a Mjolnir RBC bolted to the front.

A Setekh with a frontal BVas? :drevil:

Does it actually work in the first place? That's the question. It'll be nice if it works, but if it doesn't... :(

Does making an additional exo-frame with 4 flak guns count count?

Hmm...

Ways I've come up with (with Bax) to use a "ship" in a weird way.

Creating gravity...
Making star bases...
Base killing missiles...
Potential air vents around space colonies.
Fin funnels
Indoor corridors

There's more, but I'd have to pull out my 200+ page thread of ideas to really do a proper listing.

Re: Using things in unique ways
The Mjolnir (atleast the HTL one) doesn't have any dockpoints, so it can't be docked. :(

Eherm...

Not exactly an Argo, but the Mjolnir here has a dockpoint on it, as does the modified Leviathan.
The Mjolnir looks a little too big for the Argo.
I'll get it uploaded to FSMods.

Hoho. That's one of the ways I envisioned the GTVA fighting back if they didn't have time to prepare. Improvised superweapons. Frikken sweet.

Re: Using things in unique ways
Retextured and with some tbl and pof changes, that would be one great post-capella cruiser.
Sig nuked! New one coming soon!

That actually looks pretty good. It turns the Leviathan into a Terran Lilith. :drevil:

Wasn't there some sort of cannon in Derelict?

Re: Using things in unique ways
Yeah, a Zephyrus with a Meson bomb attached to it and a BIG beam. Indeed, that was unique
