hi i just feel lost in all these unfinished  projects .. and i want to play something
 i waited for saga  long time but they dont seem serious 
 and i played Babylon

 should i go inferno ?  and what ales ?

 i want to play wing commander series all the way from the start hehe any good place to get
 all the games ?  home of the under dogs maybe ?

If you have retail FS, the installer can set you up with a set of finished campaigns/mods that will supply you with hours of fun.

Ebay? AFAICT, none of the WC games are freeware, so I guess linking to downloads would violate HLP's "no warez" policy.

What makes you say that? I'm sure they're serious. It just takes time to make a game when it is a hobby instead of an actual job.

 i can undesrand  what you mean about saga but to wait for a s/w for 10 years dosnt sound
 so logical to me , as a player i rather not to wait at all

 if that guy was serious then its ok with me but i wont live that long but i dont mind if they are
 having fun doing this game cause i am not ... i an just benefit  from the final product ..

 i dunno exactly what to call it , in the forums its in the section you called Community Projects

 i mean i see 10s of them but i dont understand anything ,, they keep saying we released this
 we released that but i dont see games  like Babylon project  it was nice and i wanted
 to see if there is more like it , without getting lost in 100s of pages .
 but i dont want demos and game parts

OK, basically what most of them are are projects that utilize the FRED editor that was packaged with the game to create original campaigns. The exeptions are what are known as Total Canversions; stand alone mods that are usually played in some other game universe. Because of thier complexity, there aren't very many of these.

If you have a working install of freespace, you can grab freespace open which will ncrease the graphics capability and allow new commands that are used in many of the campaigns. Then you can download the user campaigns if you like and play them withing Freespace 2 itself. There are quite a lot of them and many are really good.

If you liked Freespace, then you're going to want to play some Freespace campaigns.

Play Transcend, Derelict, Silent Threat Reborn, and Blue Planet to start off. If you want a real challenge, check out 'The Procyon Insurgency', and if you want a tactical (and awesome) take on Freespace, check out 'Windmills'. The Blackwater Operations demo is old but still fantastic.

i played fs2 campaigns years ago,just checking if new projects is out
 without having to read all the long posts ,,

 i  got my hands on some wing commander  downloads and will give it a go
