There hardly are undebatable facts when people discuss campaigns. This is not the first time I see people claiming that Derelict and Transcend aren't "THE campaigns". I'd like to mention the fact that Age of Aquarius has also been criticized.

More in general, a politically correct person wouldn't say that character-driven campaigns are the best. There are players who prefer pure military experiences, like the ones seen in PI, and their different opinions are to be respected. When people suggest a newcomer to play a CDC, the newcomer needs to be warned about the characteristics of that genre. Please note that most newcomers played the main campaigns, only, so guessing that those players would also like CDCs is not a direct consequence.

Also, it's quite funny how people complain about SGWP2 even if they don't have half the FREDding skills of that campaign's designer. That kind of disrespect towards a person who spent time working on a campaign really bugs me.

I don't see how FREDding skills relate to someones ability to form an opinion on a piece of work and offer a critique, especially in a conversation where someone has asked for personal recommendations.

Also as far as I know there hasn't been a direct attack on a individual or their skills, so I struggle to see how its disrespect towards the person.

I can ensure you that the critiques I read sound like insults. I have no idea where the creator is at the moment and I assume he wouldn't consider those constructive criticism.

That's right - absolutely nothing.
So are you saying that we should just go like "OH MY GOD ITS WONDERFUL CAN I HAS YOUR BABIES" to everything because the author isn't here? No! We can voice our opinions. We can tell other people what we think of something. There is nothing wrong with criticism.
We have never once insulted the author, just criticized the work. So it's hardly anything offensive even.

I remember someone saying that the voice acting of a certain campaign wasn't good. Well, that campaign's upgrader took it personally. I'm not forcing you to claim that SGWP2 is wonderful... I'd like people to calm down with exaggerate critiques, they're all but useless. I can only imagine how that campaign's creator would react.

I did not enjoy the campaign, I have to say that... but I surely didn't join the "Anti-SGWP2 Crusade" even if I have the FREDding skills to compile a long lists of glitches. I know that campaign is not the best, but I don't post it ad nauseam.

They criticize it, that is perfectly acceptable, and if I had made SGWPII I would gladly accept criticism as it was either made for ****s and giggles or by someone with very little knowledge of how game design works.

If someone thinks my FREDing or modeling sucks he is absolutely free to tell me so. I will take no offense as long as he takes the time to explain Why he thinks it sucks and on what points it can be improved. As colecampbell666 said, I won't know if people won't tell me.

If the author is known to be MIA however then there is no reason to hold back...
