Mass effect cutscenes
Does anyone know where i can get the cutscenes from mass Effect, ie the fleet battle at the citadel or of any software to convert bik files to wmvs? i have tried to convert the Bik files to avi but everytime i use the Binkconverter in the RADtools the avi won't play, i keep getting error messages in windows media saying windows media doesn't recognise the file.

if there is any consistancy with the Shivans, it's their lack of consistancy - -Norbert-

Super © should do the trick. But if it doesn't, then odds are that nothing will.

Wait, that wasn't rendered in real-time? GAH.

...wait, I'm pretty sure they were rendered in real-time.

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
No, I think they were all in-engine and pretty much in real time.

EDIT: Okay, looks like the space scenes were pre-rendered. I was thinking about the wrong stuff.

Cheers, they were in-engine but i am not sure about the space battle ones but they could have been as well.

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
They are in engine on the Xbox version 'cos they still have texture pop in, at least during the bit where Sovereign starts taking out the Taurian Fleet, however I don't know about the pc version.

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
The scene of the Normandy in FTL flight that plays during some loading is definitely pre-rendered.

As for the rest...you'd have to look at the game files.

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
all cutscenes without a Shepard are prerendered on the PC (with horrible low resolution compared to my killer monitor, which makes ingame look much better  ). Not sure about the xBox, I think it was actually in engine there.

But the loading of course, since that would strech said loading screen if you would render it ingame.

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
if windows media wont play the avi files try converting to another format
or try the bik to exe option

Re: Mass effect cutscenes
Rad's converter probably just changes the package, not the codec.

For a good time, place the BF: 1942 introduction into your Oblivion movie folder, and change the filename proper.  :P
