Also, there are some types of killers who deserve life long imprisonment, others deserve nothing less than death.  This man deserves the most brutal, painful death we can arrange.

It's easy to get emotional about a 7-year old child, we had a similar case, the 'Baby P' case in the UK, and things got very emotional and vigilante-esque.

Jail will do, it's better to have to live with the crime than die for it, in my opinion.

Too bad prisons can't just be metal crates stacked on top of each other where we let violent offenders starve to death in the dark. We're too busy imprisoning people for putting things into their bodies the government has decided it's not okay to.

It must be easy to just invoke dispositional conclusions and then ride off into the sunset, mustn't it? In a way I envy you. If only we could all so easily turn people into animals, we'd be less burdened.

At some point people will have to realize that understanding why someone does something is not the same as forgiving it.

Make an effort to untangle the man's motivations, understand what happened, forgive him like a good Christian, and then act to prevent such atrocities in the future.

That'd be a better course of action than sinking to his level.

The sad truth is that both you and I (and anyone else) would likely commit similar atrocities if stressed the right way. We all have our breaking points.
