Online Journalism is ****-tay

The picture lies a little, though. It definitely forgot about all the ads in the middle of the goddamn article.

You have a point.
I suppose sooner or later, people give into the idea of money, profit, or simply support to maintain their site

TBH, my biggest issue with online journalism is that they haven't learned anything from blogs. They don't link references. It drives me crazy.

I take it you have done a University degree and a Masters degree like me. I love to see where the person has got their information. But when writing an essay or thesis. its a pain in the hole so sort out where you got your info from lol

Lulz. I'm in high school. I just read a lot of blogs, so I got used to being able to be like "oh, that sounds interesting," and then click the word into another tab to look at in a minute or so. Convenience.

It's only gonna get worse. When newspapers start dropping and people realize they can make more money off of online news because it's the only game left, it's gonna get a lot worse.

I never liked newspapers anyway. They seem very limited to me. Maybe because I don't remember life before interwebz.

It's just that newspapers are taking the news to online, but the only thing they're adapting to is extra ad space.

I can't even tell you how much I hate with this kind of thing happens. "Oh, we're failing. Well, how about we just do the laziest transition to a new generation of technology possible, while doing MORE of what was supposed to be making us money in the first place."

Kinda like the American auto industry. It's like a bunch of eight year olds are running these companies. "LETS MAKE CARS MOAR BIGGER." "These bigger cars aren't selling too well." "MAKE THEM MOAR BIGGER." "THATS WHAT SHE SAID LOLOLO"

You almost started to give a solution to the problem but then shot off on a ramble. So close.

What I hate is when you go to read an article and it's a video and there is no article.  If I wanted to watch a video report I'd turn on the TV.  Always a great feature to have a video come on when you have you volume set at cranking mp3 and FS2 level.

I don't watch videos without news articles going with them.

I don't like tv, so I don't like video news online, either. You can't skim a video to see if it's worth a more thorough look.

Ditto!!!

Especially when you're in an environment where so many people are trying to get on the local wireless and constantly fail because the network is too saturated...

IMO, it's disgusting when people consider the possibility of posting retarded comments a good thing and/or a good example of the Web 2.0 innovation. :ick:

No, that'd be CNN.  BBC usually has text and video together in the same.  Or at least enough description to let you know if you want to view the video or not.  CNN just launches the video.
