Signature height is limited to 60 pixels. Signatures going over this limit will have scrollbars. However, the smaller the resolution in use, the sooner sigs will reach the limit.

As a reminder, you can turn off both avatars (does not affect project badges, only admin avatars) and signatures in your own profile settings.

I'm all in favor of the limits but could the height be just a bit bigger. That's barely even enough for a one liner and a couple lines of support links. That and it cuts off right in the middle of standard text.

Also seems to be a bug with it. Even people with only a one line sig still have the full height of the sig. Blue Lions post above is a good example.

I'm all for the height limit (though like FUBAR said, it could use a bit of tweaking), but is there any real benefit in limiting the width given that images are disabled? I don't think anyone was objecting to the use of the full horizontal space, and all it does now is make everything look unnecessarily crammed into less than half of the page. I don't really have much of a sig myself, but some people have useful links in theirs that it's now difficult to fit in.

Well, I made a slight alteration to the code. Sigs that go beyond 468x60 limit will have scrollbars in them.

Mongoose, the problem with allowing dynamic width while still enforcing fixed height is resolution. The smaller the resolution is, the sooner sigs would be cropped.

Edit: I just realized that with scrollbars, width can be set back to dynamic. Problem with resolutions still apply, the lower the resolution is the sooner sigs have scrollbars.

Could I request a profile feature to turn this off if possible? When scrolling down pages in IE8 it keeps 'pausing' to scroll to the bottom or top of each persons signature if my mouse happens to cross them on its way down (which it always does), which is infinitely more annoying than the long sigs ever were!

There is plenty of room in left and right where to keep your mouse cursor while scrolling pages.

Either signatures have scrollbars or they are cut off. Or third option is to revert back. All three options are fine by me because I have sigs disabled. However, none of the three options will please everyone. There is always more or less people complaining.

Fourth option is to set small character limit to signatures. However, it only enforces new signatures, not existing ones. Even then, some people would complain when they can no longer fit all their bookmarks or quotes in their sigs.

Someone always loses. Just move mouse cursor away from general vertical area of posts and scrolling is fine.
