Title says it all. Initially (even with set-cutscene bars on via sexp. . . Nothing. As soon as my patented subtitles appear be it instantly or fading in, the bars appear. Once the subs go, so do the bars. . Whats with that?
 
I experience this effect on 3.6.9, 3.6.10 and RC3.
Using the latest mvps of course. On a Dual 8600 GS sli system with latest 8 series drivers. (Tried turning SLI on and off, makes no difference.)
 
Hope someone else has experienced this so a solution may be available.

Cutscene bars are being looked into.

They are causing me grief on the Mac platform (not showing), which is a problem for Diaspora. I'm going through the code this weekend if a get a good block of free time.

I've been campaigning for a long time now to get rid of FOV, which causes all sort of distortions on 16:9 monitors during cutscenes. As a side effect, cutscene bars applied without FOV change work flawlessly.

I don't change field of view at all. . Could it just be the widescreen factor?
