I have a job, oh my god after one year of lookign and trying my best to get one..i finally have a job and i start 3 pm today. I am scared ****less about screwing up and losing it. its a job though. oh my god you guys have no idea how much this means. I GOT a dan job and..its so good after a year..im just crying

Focus when you get there and don't panic. Just think relaxing thoughts and be cool. I was out of work for half a year, think of times when you've excelled at work and stay in that mindset.

IT WENT GREAT, and Davros lol its cool. I work at sports authority and i go again tomorrow, I got the hang of it and i like the job..not to mention 25 percent employee discount..and that is something considering the price of underarmour thanks for the congrats everyone, i always love this community at HLP

There is work out there for people, its just people are picky most of the time. I have been laid off 2x in a few years and each time had a job in less than 30days. I give interviews occasionally and we test the candidates and you should see their faces when we tell them that they will be tested

It is a good practice I think it weeds out the people that aren't telling you the truth on their resume.

But people still looking couple hints: be truthful in a interview, its ok to say you don't know something, be yourself and relax.

We hired a QA engineer and got 100+ applications and we did 5 interviews. So if you are getting that interview your doing good already. Now they want to see how your attitude is and whether you will be a fit on their team. Make sure you look into the average salary of the position you are applying for.

Unless you are under 18, in which case they will say you are perfect for the job, except that you are not old enough to use one piece of equipment, and then send you on your way.

That's a bit strong. . . Smiling doesn't generally "nail it", respectfully guage the interviewer and react with your best judgement as you see as appropriate. If you've got an old battleaxe interviewing you for instance and you're grinning away while she's asking you to list your biggest fault/failing in a previous role for instance. . . . And I can testify to this being a valid interview question.

Just be yourself, you're the one being interviewed not us.

@Zack, look into getting a temp job/ local apprenticeship scheme to build experience, although "equipment" training is pretty much standard E-level SOP on most sites (i'm using the term to refer to the general workplace, not building sites)

I apply anywhere that isn't super high class and doesn't explicitly state 18+.

The 18+ rule limits me very muchly.
