Yo people. I am making a campaign called Neo Nemesis, and hopefully can get it running sometime. I want to introduce a new species, called the Cydans, and I already have a concept picture for what they look like. I am like 5 missions away from using the Ancients designs and calling them the Cydans, but I dont really want to do that. I want to have like a species that could counter Shivans well, but could also fight against the GTVA. I was wondering if any of you people out there could make some models for me or ships or whatever. I have been looking all over for some "alien" ships" (not the Ancients) that could really kick some booty on Shivans and GTVA. I really want to get a scanner to show off my concept picture of the Cydan but I dont have enough money yet. I am currently focusing on buying a new computer so I can support all of the stuff I am doing with Freespace 2. So if anyone of you could help me get some ships going, hopefully I can get a web site going and get a cool campaign moving.

My Cydan has two arms (kind of Vasudan-ish with two bones parallel to each other with a space in between instead of a solid arm) and each hand is brimmed with four titanium-crushing fingers. The Cydan has four legs and a head that looks like something out of Independence Day. No mouth, but can communicate audibly with a flap of skin over its mouth. They dont eat food; but instead feed on energy waves. They have no need for communications because they can also communicate telepathically, but nonetheless need communications on their ships for interstellar communications.

The Cydans are a very advanced species; take for instance a Vasudan and multiply it by 15. Thats how advanced the Cyands are. The war between the Cydans and Shivans is nearly 10,000 years in the making. The Cydans travelled and conquered, not unlike the Ancients, and they were the first of the two species (Ancients and Cydans) to be resisted by the Shivans. The war between the Shivans and the Cydans started about 10,000 years before the Great Wars between the GTVA and the Shivans. The Cydans resisted the Shivans for 2,000 years, but because the Shivans had held the Cydans to their home system for 2,000 years, they were not travelling in subspace, wheras the Ancients were in the Altair system and the systems surrounding. The Shivans broke off their attacks on the Cydans to attack the Ancients, thus leaving the Cydans for another 8,000 years, mostly forgetting about them. This gave the Cydans time to retreat and regroup and again rebuild their once great armadas.


This is all I am really going to tell. I might edit some places here and there in the story, but in all essence, the Cydans are the arch-enemy of the Shivans, and nothing will stand in their way, not even the GTVA. You'll need to kick your butt and start moving in my campaign, because fun wont stop, but this is if I get my campaign and a web site. BTW, the Cydans are also out for some more conquering......

Anyone over 2 posts is fair game in my books but there's something creepy about the wording in that so I think I'll lay off.

[basic-plot-idea]First few missions could be the Cydans moving through GTVA space looking fer Ancients to ally with and then moving towards Capella or Ross128 and opening a node to Shivan space. Shivans want to kill everyone. GTVA wants to close node. Cydan wanna wipe out the Shivans and will exterminate the GTVA to get the resources they need.[/basic-plot-idea]

the campaign starts out with this...

You are a pilot out of the 332nd Mantas fighter squadron serving aboard the GTD Intrepid of the GTVA 10th Fleet based in the Beta Cygni system. The HoL has taken over a GTVA planet that is famous for technology developement; the planet is called Sirrus Prime in the Antares system. GTVA Command is ordering the 10th Fleet into Antares to help aid the other GTVA outer-rim fleets that are assembling over Sirrus Prime to retake the planet from the HoL. The first four missions are based around the stages being taken to retake the planet. Mission 1, "First Watch" is when you have to escort the GTD Intrepid to the Antares jump node while being pursued by HoL fighter and bomber squadrons. Mission 2, "Guard Duty" is based around GTVA Command having to bring in several Hoplite-class corvettes to weed out the smaller HoL warships making hit-and-run assaults against the larger GTVA warships. You are to guard the GTCv Johanson, which suffered an engine failure while in pursuit of three HoL cruisers. Mission3, "The Hammer Falls..." is based around the GTVA retaking most of the cities on the surface of Sirrus Prime and the operations of destroying the HoL supply depots orbiting Sirrus Prime. In Mission 3 you will have to take out the largest HoL supply depot, with 6 cargo containers, 6 sentries, 2 cruisers, and 2 fighter wings. This is where I am so far, and each mission has its own voice files. These are the ships that you will be flying:

Mission 1: GTF Banshee-class interceptors
Mission 2: Either the GTF Banshee interceptor or the GTF Hera
Mission 3: The GTF Erinyes, which is now a solid-based assault fighter of the GTVA. Basically saying, the GTF Erinyes is now one of the main fighters of the GTVA, found in most every GTVA fleet.

Anyhow....some more feedback from someone and please someone make some models or ships for me at least....
