Array Updates - No, For Real!
Guys! The Array. Jeeves had it all ready for me; there's stuff in it. :)

www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/array

Some of it is new stuff, some of it is semi-old, but it's all my work. :) And one, completely new, "hammered from start to finish" render - here's the latest. :)

Small, I know, but I'm rusty. ;) It's Woomeister's funky Knossos installation... it's one heck of a station. You guys are going to be in for a treat when Inferno's released. :)

Enjoy, everyone! :D

Setekh, you never cease to amaze me. That one you just posted is just.....wow.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Whenever I see that characteristic glow, I know who designed the image... ;)

Anyway, the render you posted here looks very, very nice with all of those details and special effects. Definitely Volition cutscene quality.

Just had a few questions:
Is that a GTVI-owned record?
What does the little text at the right of image read? :D (does it start off with "math is cool?" :D)

Yes, it's GTVI owned... as indicated by the insignia at top-left. ;) The text, naturally, is classified above your level, pilot. :D

Kamikaze? I'm afraid you're going to have to be a little more specific there... which particular lights/glow effects are you referring to? There are lots in there. ;)

The whole package? :D (j/k)

Well, you know you tend to glow all your work to some degree with a soft, light glow? Especially in your text and such. A lot of your renders seem to have kind of a fog on them (very light though) which looks cool, an example is the touch-up of that terra render, the one with the mountains.
Anyway, was wondering how you do that kind of stuff. :)

Ah, I see. :) Well, the main thing I do is define regions in the render and I determine how much light each one is receiving and reflecting. Then I add some light resistance to the scene (just like dust or fog, but since we're in space, I call it by what it does - resists light from passing through), and that produces your glowy feel. Et voila. :)

I see... Cool :) (writes some notes in a notepad)

Problem is, I'm going to have to get a renderer which are waaayy out of my reach. ($1200 dollars for a program! bah!)

Anyone know of a way to simulate that in Photoshop?
