Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
Howdy pardners. Galemp, mxlm, Stealth, and Redsniper are all meeting in Houston, Texas on Saturday October 31st. We'll be going to the Houston Space Center and possibly more!

We'll post the pictures here, and if anyone else is nearby and willing they're welcome to join.

Wish I could be there.  Have fun!
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

MatthewPapa lives in Houston.

Is there any way to search for members that live in "Houston" and send them emails?

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
There's the "Where is everybody?" thread that lists locations, and there's the PM function. :)

Max and I are ridiculously busy this week so I'll have to leave it up to you.

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
Matthew - awesome, glad you responded - i just sent you an email too!  I know we'd talked about getting together YEARS ago to go to a gaming cafe or something.

OK so where and when are we going to meet?  We can come up with a time and place now that we can all shoot for.
Since everyone's coming from the NW side of town, (redsniper and matthewpapa from 290 (northwest) and me from I45 (north)) we can probably pick a place on 290 even.

What think?

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
We have no idea where anything is. Pick a place, gimme an address, and we'll plug it into our GPS.

HLP London worked very well by meeting at a pub in Trafalgar Square. I dunno if there's a diner or something we can rendezvous at, but make sure it's not too big and not too common (i.e. no McDonald's or Starbucks.)

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
Well as far as evening restaurants go, I have several ideas, but if we're meeting up in the afternoon, how about meeting at Brickhouse tavern?  It's a pretty new tavern/restaurant:

http://www.brickhousetavernandtap.com/en/startitup.html

You have to let me know what side of town you're going to be on, and we can arrange it from there.  Just tell me an intersection you'll be close to, and i'll pick something in a close proximity :)

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
There's nothing you haven't seen already, actually. :(

Guys, are we doing the Space Center or not? We have to consider when they close, and that we are all coming from different places. We may want to simply meet there, go on our tour, then head to a watering hole for the evening.

Also, we need to exchange phone numbers. I sent mine in a PM; I recommend you do the same.

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
Yes we're doing Space Center - you wanted to do it, and you're the visitor, so we'll go!

I'm all for meeting there, really I am, but honestly it all depends on a) which direction everyone's coming from, and b) which direction everyone needs to go (as in - whereabouts in Houston are you staying?).  Those two questions we need to answer as soon as possible, so we can determine a place to meet for lunch, or, as you mentioned, whether it's best to just meet at the space center.

Space Center closes at 7:00PM.  If we meet up for lunch and then head that direction (say, getting there at 2:00PM) there'll be plenty of time to see most all of the sites and exhibits.  5 hours at the space center is plenty :)

Re: Hard Light Houston: Halloween 2009
As I said, it doesn't matter where we're coming from, or where we're staying. We've been doing everything on the fly, and we'll drive anywhere and stay anywhere we have to. It's up to you and RedSniper to decide where you it's convenient for you two to meet, and we'll find you there.

If we meet for lunch I'd prefer it to be lighter fare, then we can all have drinks and such at dinner afterwards.

Urgh, I don't know Houston that well. It's up to you Stealth, pick a spot, preferably somewhere it won't be too hard to park. :nervous:
