Quite true. All other things about it are irrevelant.

I'll also point out that Washington is not the president you should be talking about when you're discussing Thanksgiving; that should be Lincoln, who actually established it.

I disagree. Just because its not nice to think about doesnt mean its not true. You think Native Americans (the only "real" Americans) on their ever-shrinking reserves celebrate thanksgiving?

You are right about Lincoln being the one who established it as a national holiday.  I just remembered Washington's from hearing it on a Top 5 Nationally Syndicated Talk Show with over 25 million listeners daily.

Yeah, I'm not gonna deny bad things happened in American history.  But, it's distasteful to bring them up when we're supposed to be pause and be thankful for things.

If that's what you think it's about, do a little more research.  It's a national holiday to give thanks for WHATEVERTHE****YOUWANNAGIVETHANKSFOR.  If I wanna be thankful I live in the USA then I will.  You can be thankful for whatever.
