Here is a little bit to ease the waiting time...For all who are unfamiliar with SoI or have not been checking in on my forums at FreeSpaceMods:

The Universe we know is dead. The GTA is slowly falling apart, its fleets and colonies have betrayed it and left it to die. Only a very few loyalist remain to man the ships that patrol the small corner of space the Alliance is left with. Interaction with the newly formed colonial governments has mostly been peaceful and alliance with the Vasudans appeared to be prospering...
... until three months ago. All humans have been forced to leave Vasudan space in a hurry. Emissaries were re-called and all joint edavours have suddenly ended. On top of that Vasudan ship have stopped answering hails and all diplomatic channels have been silent.
And this is only the begining....
