I putting the finishing touches on my campaign (backgrounds, proof reading etc.). Before I release it I would like to have it playtested by someone else to test the balance I find the errors/bugs i most likely missed.

What to expect:
The campaign consists of 9 missions, set during the second great war.
The missions do have backgrounds, but I will change some of them.
Mission briefings have not yet been proof read.

What to look out for:
Balance
Bugs
Inconsistencies
Is it easy for the player to know what to do?
Is the story easy to follow?

A Feddie Story

 
So first feedback so far...
now i played the first three Missions and must say: superb!!!
Spoiler:
After the first mission i become a transcend feeling *gg*

No Errors so far but.. i miss beeps in the communication (chatter) like BP.
I always must have a sharp look to the chatter on the top screen to not oversee any important message.

The difficulty in the first three missions is very fair and i enjoyed the missions.

So now i continue playing...

Thanks for the word of confidence.

I didn't make the beeps because I usually play non voiceacted campaigns with simulated speech on. But if the majority of people don't do that I guess I should have them in. I will try and see if it fits the mood.

So i am finished the Campaign.
It was very enjoyable to play.

Spoiler:
and i loved the idea with the long range Beam Cannon and the Tag Missiles.

So now i found a few little issues:

On Mission Gate Keeper and Escape:
by pressing F4: Secondary Goal Text missing (says: secondary Goal Text)
In the briefing if you click on the icons from the wings/ships - wrong ships showing in the pop up Window.

Great work so far, and in the next days i will be replay in higher Diff. level.
I played on very Easy the first run  ;)

Very, very common issues. I've spotted on many completed and famous campaigns before. Most campaigns would surely benefit of fixing such details.
People are stupid, therefore anything popular is at best suspicious.

  • The sky is the limit.
Clicking on an icon to see the ship isn't very well known feature, so people tend to ignore setting for it.
Same goes for F4, I didn't knew about them untill recently.

 
Hello Guys,
now i am only post here what i found.
sure the issue with the icons is not important and the missing Goal text also not very important - but i think usefuilly for the creator of this Campaign.

Spoon sent me a PM with some things instead. You both pointed out the icons and to be honest I completely missed that function until then  :nervous:. While that kind of detail may not seem very important it all helps making the campaign better.

Maybe I'm misremembering things, but I think one of the coders arranged things so that FS2_Open will automagically ignore the default comm beep sound files if simulated speech is turned on, so that players can still use it if a campaign includes the message sounds.  You'd just have to make sure that you left the file names as "startmsg/emptymsg.wav," depending on which you were using.

And i'll only say here that Uncharted territory is an excellent campaign and I suggest you all give it a whirl once ReeNoiP releases it.

Also i'm kinda suprised that clicking on briefing icons is apparantly such an unknown feature.
I personally don't check the F4 log a lot though...
