Ok, how I am supposed to do that? I mean adding bytes...

"Now for the hard part. Go to the TXTR chunk. Find the entry that uses
the same name as the texture name you used for your thruster faces, and
rename it to "thruster01". You WILL have to add bytes, at least 2
bytes. To do this, add them as needed, then add whatever number you
need such that the "size" field of the string now reflects the new size
of the string. Then go to the TXTR chunk header and add that same
number to the chunk length entry. If you do not do this properly,
Freespace will crash when it reads this pof."

There's several good freeware hex-editors around that'll let you do that and much more...

most good text editors also often have good hex-support (I use UltraEdit personally)

yes, I have one, but I don't get anything at how to "add bytes". Mine as a command called "manipulate bits", that gives me a strange menu...And I must be really dumb, 'coz I just don't understand...
